This small-batch formula combines pine resin and Norway spruce resin with black spruce essential oil, which is said to create a antimicrobial barrier which could help protect and heal minor cuts, scrapes, scratches, and abrasions. Burdock root and comfrey bring an old-world herbal element to the blend which is said to have anti-inflammatory & antioxidants that may provide joint and muscle pain relief and help with swelling and tissue recovery, while the black castor oil which contains ricinoleic acid helps improve moisture retention and soothe dryness. Olive oil provide a rich, conditioning base and contains oleocanthal, a natural compound that works similarly to ibuprofen in fighting inflammation. Beeswax & Tallow give this balm its body and helps leave a protective layer over dry, exposed skin.
